The 2008 Democratic National Convention is only a four day event, but smart delegates are planning to stick around Colorado through the Labor Day holiday.

Whether you’re going to remain in the Denver area for world-class dining and nightlife, or will head to the mountains for some well-deserved R&R, the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau can steer you in the right direction.

Mayor Hickenlooper Invites Travelers To Visit The New West

This month, you’ll see the Mile High City on United Airlines flights, inviting travelers to “put Denver and Colorado on their travel hit list.”

In partnership with United, this 75-second video featuring Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will be shown on United’s August flights around the world, highlighting Denver and Colorado attractions and providing visitors and potential visitors a sense of the energetic and progressive spirit that the City embodies.

The Downtown Denver Partnership Captures The Spirit of 2008

The Downtown Denver Partnership has unveiled a six minute long artistic film entitled DowntownDenver2008 – a virtual time capsule to commemorate the year 2008. The film provides a fresh perspective on Downtown Denver, capturing the people and character of the city.

On the weekend before the Democratic National Convention (August 22-24), DowntownDenver2008 will be shown at Coors Field in front of an estimated 100,000 people during the pre-game activities (Denver vs. Cincinnati). In addition, on Monday, August 25, DowntownDenver2008 will be shown at Red Rocks as part of the Cinemocracy Rocks! Film Festival.
